The AOC AG271QG from the AGON Monitor series

AOC is releasing a 165Hz monitor GSYNC compatible monitor with 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution, it is very similar to the ‘QX’ model, but comes with an IPS panel.

The panel is an AHVA (Advanced Hyper Viewing Angle) IPS-type with a 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution, 1000:1 static contrast and 165Hz refresh rate (30 – 165Hz variable, with Nvidia G-SYNC). It has a 350 cd/m² typical maximum luminance, 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles and true 8-bit colour. A 4ms grey to grey response time is noted.

The monitor stand can be removed to use 100 x 100mm VESA holes. At the right side of the monitor there is a retractable headphone hook and a few ports; 3.5mm headphone jack, 3.5mm microphone jack and 2 USB 3.0 ports (yellow one with fast-charging). At the rear there are 2 further USB 3.0 ports (plus upstream), DP 1.2 (supports G-SYNC) and HDMI 1.4.

The new premium line of AOC gaming monitors – the AGON series – is on its way to the market. After a spectacular reveal in Beijing, China, hard-core players and gaming enthusiasts have been waiting with anticipation to see the first monitor in the series. The AOC AG271QX has combined everything that technology pioneers and avid gamers are striving for – flawless performance and the ultimate user experience.

AOC has been fulfilling the growing demands of video game enthusiasts and has kept up to pace with the rapidly developing eSports and competitive gaming community. AOC AG271QX is the manifestation of the AGON series core value – to understand the needs of the user by providing flexibility, excellence and ease of use.

This high-end QHD gaming monitor is powered by a high-speed TN panel at a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It delivers ultra-smooth images with a 144Hz refresh rate and a response time of 1ms, supported by Adaptive-Sync Technology (FreeSync™ compatible, at a 30-144Hz range). With such a powerful setup, the AOC AG271QX can guarantee an ultimate visual experience, completely free of stuttering and tearing.

For all your competitive plays

The ultimate goal of the AGON series is to deliver the best gaming experience no matter what game title you choose to play. Are you on your way to Challenger in League of Legends? A member of the Global Elite in Counter Strike: Global offensive or 6000+ MMR player in Dota 2? AG271QX has your back. With its reaction speed and smoothness, it will help you to face your opponents by assisting your plays with perfect vision. Just dive into the video game world and throw a showdown of your skill as the AG271QX will react to your commands instantly.

The instantaneous response-time of the AGON series is ensured by the AOC Low Input Lag mode, which disables picture post-processing on the monitor’s electronics and accelerates the command pass-through from mouse, keyboard and gamepad to result in immediate actions. In addition to that, the AOC Shadow Control enables gamers to quickly adjust contrast in overly dark or bright areas without sacrificing the quality of well-balanced areas across the rest of the screen.

Magnificent inside and out

AG271QX is the star among gaming monitors not only on the inside. It offers the gamer exquisite ergonomics and convenience as you can pick the most comfortable position adjusting height, tilt and swivel. All of them are accurately marked by a scale, so you can always jump back to preferred settings.

It’s no secret that avid gamers can spend hours playing their favorite games, therefore AG271QX is imbued with the eye-protecting AOC Flicker-Free Technology and the AOC Low Blue Light mode. Both of them are reducing eye strain, discomfort and fatigue in long gaming sessions.

Individuality is the key to reveal your true potential and for this reason the new AG271QX has easily adjustable Game Mode Presets. In addition to this, AOC has also enhanced this new monitor with the AOC QuickSwitch Controller, enabling the user to switch effortlessly between modes and adjust brightness, contrast and other essential gaming features.

Looks like AG271QG is AHVA-IPS, AG271QX is TN. Confusing, but there are two different monitors. AG271QX is 2160p (QHD), the IPS one is 1440p (WQHD).

If this is the same crappy AU Optronics panel as with ASUS/Acer (and it most likely is) then I'll pass... and I am in a market for a good high refresh rate g-sync 1440p monitor.
