Exactly my thinking. Until this changes (I can't find any streaming devices above 1080p, and that for the last 5 years at minimum) I'll rather keep an extra PC and use steam's inhome-streaming. Works great, and can actually stream games with higher resolutions than 1080p.
Maybe they're preparing the launch of steam link 2 with 4k capability next year?
