Seagate ships its second-generation Momentus XT, a solid state hybrid drive for consumers and business users. It's a 750GB SATA 6Gbps HDD with 8GB SLC NAND flash memory, under typical load this design provides a significant performance boost that approaches SSD-like speeds, but under heavy stress the performance seems to break down.

Seagate (NASDAQ:STX) is now shipping the second generation of Momentus
