Razer starts selling striking Raptor 27 monitor

It's something to look at alright, and I don't mean the actual display panel. In the US the Raptor is selling, a 27-inch screen with an IPS panel and 144 Hz refresh rate at 2560x1440.

The Razer Raptor does just that, featuring an IPS display supporting HDR400 with an insanely wide DCI-P3 color gamut, which is quickly becoming the new film industry standard and surpasses the sRGB standard. With a blistering 144Hz refresh rate, The Razer Raptor can display more than double the frames than the industry standard while the Ultra Low Motion Blur technology further enhances the sharpness of each individual frame. This produces an incredible image with stunning clarity and life-like fluid motion, so no matter how hectic the action gets, you can react faster with more precision, the Razer Raptor 27 supports both AMD Freesync and NVIDIA G-sync Compatible standards. Play games without stuttter and eliminate input lag completely.

  • 27" Non-Glare WQHD IPS Display
  • Fast 144Hz Refresh Rate and wide color gamut with HDR support
  • Ultra thin bezels at 2.3mm
  • Adaptive display via AMD FreeSync
  • 90° tilt for easy setup and access to ports
  • Built-in CNC cable management system
  • USB-C power delivery to charge mobile devices
  • Razer Chroma™ with 16.8 million colors for customization
The screen can now be pre-ordered for $ 699.99. Crafted with a dual-rail design the Razer Raptor 27 glides seamlessly to the desired height that provides the best comfort for use. Wrapped in aluminum and fabric, the Razer Raptor 27 tilts up to 90º so all the ports can be revealed and accessed with ease.
Update: it's now available.
Razer today announced the latest version of its multi-award-winning gaming monitor, the new Razer Raptor 27. With a 165 Hz display and 1 ms response time, the Raptor 27 meets the demand for image quality and speed needed in today's high-frame-rate and high-resolution AAA game titles. The Razer Raptor 27 is the world's first PC monitor to achieve THX Certification, undergoing more than 400 individual tests to ensure color, tone and images are displayed as their creators intended, for a stunning picture quality and level of detail.

Providing increased fluidity at 165 Hz, the wide-angle IPS display in the new Razer Raptor 27 boasts a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution with support for both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync adaptive synchronization technology. With a 95 percent DCI-P3 wide color gamut and HDR400 capability, the Razer Raptor 27 offers deep blacks and vibrant colors that take gaming, productivity, and entertainment to new visual heights.

The new Razer Raptor 27 retains the popular design of its predecessor with an elegant matte-black finish to the forged aluminium base, a high-end textured fabric back and built-in cable management channels running along the backside. To finish the look, the Raptor 27 features Razer Chroma RGB lighting, for up to 16.8 million colors and a variety of lighting effects, which can be synchronized with other Synapse 3 compatible devices. For an enhanced experience, users can also control the Raptor 27's settings such as color, contrast and brightness directly through the Razer Synapse 3 software.

For maximum flexibility, Razer are also releasing the Raptor VESA adapter - sold separately and designed to fit all Raptor models, this ultra-slim mount adds a VESA compatible mounting plate to the rear of the Raptor monitor, replacing the fitted base unit and allowing users to mount the Raptor on a VESA compatible stand or bracket of their choice.

The new Razer Raptor 27 will be available in early Q3 2021 for USD $799.99 / €999.99 MSRP at Razer.com and select retailers later. Razer VESA Mount Adapter for Razer Raptor 27 will be available in early Q3 2021 for USD $99.99 / €99.99 MSRP exclusively on Razer.com.

Unless you need the colours, this is about 300% of the price I'd pay for this screen in gaming relation. Two friends of mine just this year bought 1440p, 144Hz, Freesync2 screens (Gsync ready) for ~250€...
