QNAP Releases 16-bay TS-1677X Ryzen-Powered NAS

QNAP released the new enterprise-class TS-1677X Ryzen NAS with twelve 3.5-inch drive bays, four 2.5-inch drive bays, driven by an AMD Ryzen 8-core processor, optimized storage efficiency with Qtier auto-tiering, and SSD caching.

The AMD Ryzen processor, with Turbo Core of up to 3.7 GHz, can greatly boost virtualization performance. The TS-1677X can also perform as AI-oriented big data storage when used with a high-end graphics card and QNAP's " QuAI" AI developer package.

The TS-1677X includes models with AMD Ryzen 7 1700 (8-cores/16-threads), AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (6-cores/12-threads) and AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (4-cores/4-threads) that support AES-NI encryption acceleration and up to 64 GB DDR4 RAM. Every model provides two 10GBASE-T RJ45 ports (that support 10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M speeds) and three PCIe slots for incredible expansion potential. Supported PCIe devices include a graphics card, 10GbE/40GbE NICs, USB 3.1 expansion cards, and QM2 cards (that add additional M.2 SSDs or 10GbE connectivity). Incorporating incredible performance, reliability and scalability, the TS-1677X provides an exceptional storage solution for diverse business IT environments. Facing the booming artificial intelligence, QNAP's newly developed "QuAI" AI developer package can empower the TS-1677X NAS to perform as an AI/ML/DL solution. Data scientists and developers can leverage the NAS-based AI platform to quickly build, train, optimize, and deploy machine-learning models. When used with a high-end graphics card, the TS-1677X delivers incredible computing performance to empower data-intensive machine learning applications, providing immeasurable benefits for exploring intelligent services and the great business value they can provide.

"The TS-1677X NAS features flagship-grade hardware to deliver the 10GbE connectivity and PCIe expandability required by today's compute-intensive workplaces, and empowers AI-oriented tasks for greater business potential," said Jason Hsu, Product Manager of QNAP, adding "The robust TS-1677X series includes models with higher-performance AMD Ryzen 7, cost-effective AMD Ryzen 5, and budget-friendly AMD Ryzen 3 options to provide organizations with greater choice to meet their requirements."

The multi-threading TS-1677X is capable of simultaneously running multiple virtual machines. It is virtualization-ready for VMware , Citrix , Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server 2016 environments with the support of iSER (iSCSI Over RDMA). It can host virtual machines and containers as an efficient all-in-one server, and support snapshots and virtual machine backups for all-in-one virtualization management. The TS-1677X also supports vQTS that enables users to run multiple virtual QTS systems on a single NAS, to provide resource segregation benefits, flexible application deployment, and savings on power, cost, and physical space. Combining high performance, storage potential, and SSD caching to optimize music streaming, the TS-1677X serves a perfect choice for the optimum Roon music experience. Users can install the Roon Server app in the QTS App Center and easily browse and play music with Roon apps on any compatible device for multi-zone multimedia experiences. Running the intelligent QTS operating system, the TS-1677X series is a comprehensive storage solution for data storage, backup/restoration, sharing and management. The built-in App Center includes hundreds of install-on-demand apps to extend NAS functionality: the QRM+ centralized management solution features graphic topology diagrams for managing Windows , Linux , and IPMI devices; Q'center consolidates the management of multiple QNAP NAS; QVPN integrates settings of VPN server and VPN clients; QVR Pro provides a professional video surveillance solution (8 free channels; expandable to 128 channels); QIoT Suite Lite builds a private IoT cloud platform; and much more.
