The bus interface is PCI-Express4.0 (x8). Designed for SR-IOV (single route I / O virtualization) and RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet), the controller is NVIDIA "Mellanox ConnectX-6 Lx", the network connector is SFP28, and the transfer speed is 25 Gbps. , Supports 10 Gbps.

309 isn't a such a "massive price" intel X550-T1/T2 10gbit ethernet NICs are around 220€ yes there are cheaper but not as good in my experience Aquantia gave me several problems over the years and it's never breaking speed record be it of amd threadripper, intel z390 onboard or in one of the asus aqc107 nics (own one)
fyi I get noticeably better speeds using amd x570+intel x550 nic than with a z390+onboard aqc107 I'm suspecting the "no lanes" Intel "gaming" chipset/cpu z390 (16x pcie 3.0 lanes) didn't have enough bandwith to handle 10Gbit because before it I had an X99 motherboard + i7 5960x (40x pcie 3.0 lanes) and got better speeds on it too just like now on amd X570
apparently I'm eligible for 25Gbit optic fiber lol
now like anticupidon says, I only have 10Gbit computers to connect it to and frankly I don'see any use for it 10Gbit is already extreme, you're limited by the drives the motherboards etc...connecting to it
a quick search gave me super expensive cables but no "consumer level" switches or NICs..too soon, maybe one day I'll switch "for science"
