OCZ Petrol Indilinx SATA 6.0 Gbps Solid State Drives

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/11/2011 01:40 PM | source: | 0 comment(s)

OCZ is working real hard on a new lineup next to their SandForce based products, the Indilinx based Octane already was showing promising numbers.

But here's a new model coming into town real soon, it's called the Petrol and is the 2nd line of Indilinx based products from OCZ, a product with asynchronous MLC memory making the product slightly slower, yet likely way more affordable then the previous one.

The Petrol drives feature a 2.5-inch form factor, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, and make use of the NDurance technology technology which increases the life span of NAND flash memory by as much as 2 times.

The Petrol models also have 25nm asynchronous MLC (multi-level cell) NAND Flash memory (the Octane line uses synchronous MLC NAND), a MTBF of 1.25 million hours, TRIM support, and are backed by a three-year warranty. The Fastest Petrol will have a read speed of 370 MB/sec with 250 MB/writes. The 128GB model though will be severely slower in write performance at 135MB/sec.

Have a peek at the spec sheet.
