Nvidia Jetson Module empowers Xiaomi CyberDog Four-Legged Robot

This "four-legged robot" that was unveiled by Xiaomi contains an Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX CPU module, which powers it. A spokesperson for the company has claimed that the robot is capable of backflipping and carrying 3kg of weight.

Mi has created its own servo motors for the CyberDog, which are integrated within the device. With a top speed of 3.2 meters per second, or 11.5 kilometers per hour, the robot can travel long distances. According to Xiaomi, CyberDog is agile and strong enough to perform a back flip on command. A Jetson Xavier NX module from Nvidia is installed on the device's motherboard. Volta graphics processing unit with 384 CUDA cores, 48 Tensor processing units, and six Nvidia Caramel CPU cores based on the ARMv8.2 architecture are included. Furthermore, the robot dog is equipped with eleven sensors, which provide input on the device's motions to the user.

CyberDog is also equipped with an Intel RealSense D450 depth perception module, which allows it to see in three dimensions. Using camera technology from Xiaomi's smartphones, the company claims to be able to achieve this. Furthermore, the robot dog is equipped with three USB-C connectors as well as an HDMI port, which developers may utilize to attach other components. Xiaomi gives the example of a panorama camera, a motion camera, or a lidar as examples. Xiaomi has never before created a robot of this caliber. CyberDog, according to the business, is an open source project aimed for developers. The Chinese producer will sell a thousand copies at a cost of 10,000 yuan per copy in order to break even. With VAT included, that comes to approximately 1600 euros. It is currently unknown whether or not additional copies will be produced.

Xiaomi will sell a total of 1,000 units for approximately 1600 euros each. Yeah, it looks very much like a robo dog from the TV series Black mirror eh ? :)
