Nvidia CEO: "Radeon VII is lousy and nothing new"
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang made some unusual harsh remarks on yesterday's announced Radeon VII from AMD. In an interview at PC World he mentions this: “The performance is lousy and there’s nothing new,” Huang said.
He finds the product underwhelming and then went on and says: “[There’s] no ray tracing, no AI. It’s 7nm with HBM memory that barely keeps up with a 2080. And if we turn on DLSS we’ll crush it. And if we turn on ray tracing we’ll crush it.”
He then added some more, “It’s a weird launch, maybe they thought of it this morning,” Huang then stated. Huang spoke before a small group of reporters and addressed a wide range of topics. It is very unusual harsh language from the CEO to talk down a product that is not yet on the market. The new Radeon XII will not be available until February 7, no objective independent reviews have been published yet.

Hmm, would he describe performance of 2080 lousy too then?
I know that the Vega II will have worse performance per watt but considering the fact that this will be an equivalent of nVidias Titan but for a lot different price... well I would not call that lousy at all.

Sounds like someone is afraid of something. You don't go trash talking a rival unless you're worried.

That's just flat out disrespectful, and makes you look really ignorant considering you're a CEO.

Heh, maybe this release caught him and his plans on the wrong foot? Maybe he was upset because his distant niece was stealing his black leather jacket for the announcements?
On a more serious note, what does he think he's talking about? RTX which works in close to no game? Or DLSS which does work in close to no game? If he only could turn on those things he might indeed have a clear advantage... right now he does not
