Mobile AMD Radeon RX 570 Surfaces

Mobile AMD Radeon RX 570 Surfaces

Well kinda, over at CES Samsung had the new Odyssey gaming laptop on display. However somebody noticed something interesting on the spec list as a Radeon RX 570 is mentioned, which would be a mobile part.

AMD obviously has not confirmed or even announced an RX500 series mobile GPU, and for a big name like Samsung to put out that info on a spec list, is interesting alright.

What is also interesting is that the Odyssey gaming laptop can be fitted with either a GeForce GTX 1070 or this that Radeon RX 570, indicating they both are at roughly a similar performance level. One last fact, on that spec list you can see that the Radeon RX 570 would be either a 4 GB or GB (graphics memory) model.

If we'd speculate a little bit, this might simply be a re-branded OEM version of the Radeon RX 470 series, thus Polaris. Intersting none the less.

So AMD is going the same road like with HD7000 and HD8000 series
We will probably see VEga as Rx490/Fury 2/Vega and RX5xx will be used for OEM/Mobile builds.

This is either a typo, or the RX500 series will be the mobile parts.

Or RX 570 has low enough TDP to be put in a laptop or at least it is similar to 1070 and 1080.

Does it indicate a similar performance level? It could also mean two models, with the Nvidia one being more expensive, the AMD model being a bit more affordable.

My first thought was typo, but this is CES, not some local Best Buy.
