Mini ITX ASUS ROG STRIX B350-I Gaming Motherboard

Mini ITX ASUS ROG STRIX B350-I Gaming Motherboard

Maybe a bit late to the market, but most definitely appealing, check out the AMD Ryzen ASUS ROG STRIX B350-I Gaming motherboard. A Swedish retailer, Inet has listed a new Asus Strix B350 ITX motherboard.

What's intersting is that this motherboard has a peculiar setup, check just above the PCI Express x16 slot, there is a daughterboard containing the soundcard it seems. The 17cmx17cm mobo also holds an M.2 slot with cooler. The board costs about 229$

  • Number of M.2: 2 (So apparently this board has two M.2 ports. I wonder if the second is on the back)
  • USB 2.0 (Internal): 2
  • USB 3.1 (Internal) Gen 1: 2
  • USB 3.1 (External) Gen 1: 4
  • USB 3.1 (External) Gen 2: 2

The B350 chipset based unit can house AMD AM4 processors as well as up to 32 gigabytes of DDR4 3200 MHz (OC) DDR4. It has four SATA 6.0 Gbit/s headers and thus the two M.2 slots, you'll spot Gigabit ethernet as well as built-in wifi, and SupremeFX 8-Channel High Definition Audio.

A bit late indeed but for me in particular its what would sway me away from the z370 chipset. Been waiting for a board just like this to be released :D

Quite pricy and Yes a bit late to the party, waited for Asus to release a good mini itx board for too long. Finally went with micro ATX gigabyte as it was the only one with 3.1 Gen2 ports. Had to move from mini itx to a micro ATX build. Guess I will wait till Zen 2 for my upgrade.

What a ripoff, and I thought ASRock's X370 board was overpriced. The only advantage this board has over all of its competitors is an additional fan connector. That doesn't make it worth roughly $100 more over its competitors. We all know Ryzens don't OC that well, so its not like this would have an edge there. Meanwhile, it lacks video headers for APUs, and it lacks the audio channels for surround sound (features that competing boards have). At least the layout is nice.

But, I guess people will pay anything for ROG.
