Yes, they were still around. Mr. Lorne Trottier, the co-founder of Matrox, acquired 100% ownership of the Matrox group of companies, including its three divisions—Matrox Imaging, Matrox Graphics, and Matrox Video.

It sounds like this was a buyout so the other co-founder could retire, either way - nice to know they are still around. It seems they found their niche in doing obscure video and enterprise AV solutions after they backed out of consumer graphics / when the Parhelia flopped.

I once had a rig with a Matrox G400 and 2 12MB 3dfx Voodoo cards in SLI. That box was it way back when. Now I have to settle for a single Nvidia 2080Ti.
