LITEON Offers MUX Series M2 SSDs
LITEON (the company behind Plextor), is offering their new MUX M.2 SSD NVMe series storage units, available in a 128 GB and 256 GB and paired with TLC 3D Toshiba NAND, these would be the value units.
As stated, the MUX will become available in two models, a small 128 GB and 256MB version. The M.2. units are following the standard 8cm M.2 2218 form factor, most motherboards support these, up-to 8cm. The MUX series are not the fastest ones when talking NVMe storage, but they offer transfer rates of 1,600 MB/sec, 850 MB/sec, 145,000 IOPS, 140,000 IOPS for the 256 GB model (read/write) and sequential reads 1,500 MB / sec, writing 450 MB / sec, random reads 91,000 IOPS, writing 110,000 IOPS for the 128 GB model.
Supported functions include TRIM, SMART, ECC, wear leveling, etc. MTBF is 1.5 million hours, product warranty is 3 years. Pricing and availability are TBA.
