Intel Core 14th Gen Meteor lake would realize 1.5x+ efficiency compare to the Raptor Lake
Intel Meteor Lake is the codename for Intel's upcoming 14th-generation Core processors, expected to be released in the latter half of this year.
The 14th-generation processor is expected to deliver up to 50% better performance-per-watt at the same specs, thanks to its innovative architecture which combines multiple chiplets using Intel's stacking/packaging technique. Meteor Lake promises to offer significant upgrades in performance and efficiency compared to its predecessor, Raptor Lake. The tiled-GPU architecture and Xe GPU cores are expected to improve GPU performance. The processor consists of four main tiles, including the IO Tile, the SOC Tile, GFX Tile, and the Compute Tile, with the Compute Tile combining the CPU Tile and GFX Tile.
The CPU Tile uses a hybrid core design of Redwood Cove P-cores and Crestmont E-cores, aimed at delivering a 1.5x+ efficiency increase compared to Raptor lake. Meteor Lake will bring support for new instruction sets, increased core and thread counts, and an advanced security feature set to enhance the overall computing experience. Intel's Meteor Lake processors are expected to be available in the latter half of this year, promising to bring a significant upgrade in performance and efficiency to users.

this is what i've been waiting for for four years!
finally stoked to buy an Intel system update to go along w/ my AMD.
this would be a secondary system, but i'm excited to see how it and the 7900X3D will fare.
i'm going for the i-5 14xxx so this will end up being a nice budget build (inheriting older gpu - 6900xt)

tbh, Intel would be upgrading a hell of a lot more people if they released the low power mobile w/ cheap chipset for desktop even if they were strictly DDR5 as that's migrating to lappies as well as the cost dropping significantly.
imagine a 65 w i-9 or i-7 (laptop equivalent) to go with those 400+ watt psu's. a gold 650w psu would be enough instead of the 1000w + recommended for desktop 12 &13 gen
afaik, RL refresh has been scrapped and AL given 20% discounts to free up cash flow and reduce inventory

Still no word on whether these are mobile or desktop parts, right? Last I heard they were releasing a RL-refresh alongside Meteor mobile, with Meteor desktop coming next year, but maybe this has changed now?
