I-O Data DVR-S24ET 24x Internal DVD Writer

I-O Data will launch a new 24x internal DVD writer, the DVR-S24ET. Coming in white and black color options, the drive is equipped with a SATA connection interface and capable of delivering write speeds of up to 24x for DVD+R/-R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD+R/-R DL & DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW. 

The DVR-S24ET will go on sale from late January for 4,935 Yen (about $58).

I can't even remember the last time I put an optical disc in my machine. I don't think I will even have an optical drive in any future PC

I only ever use mine in the rare cases where i need to burn something.
I have an external USB dvd-RW that i could use if i really needed to.
So i'm with NZLion, i probably won't use an optical drive in any future PC's either.
And if i do, it'll milk this IDE one until it dies.

not only is this a waste of time and money you can't even buy 24X DVDR discs anyways so what is the point apart from old school epenis mines faster than your's blah blah blah
