HP introduces seven 27-inch+ gaming 1ms displays with a refresh rate of 165Hz.

With the addition of seven new models to its HP X gaming monitor line-up this week, HP has decided to generously scatter gaming displays onto the market.

I'll include a complete feature table in the following section, but first, let me provide a little overview of what is being presented here. HP has unveiled three new curved VA monitors as well as four new flat IPS panel displays designed specifically for gamers. All of the models have a diagonal size of either 27-, 32-, or 34-inches, and they all have a reaction time of 1ms, a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, and they are all certified as AMD FreeSync Premium gaming monitors, which means they can play games at high frame rates. Another characteristic is the three-sided borderless design, as well as the adjustable stands that are offered (which can be swapped out for VESA stands or mounts).

Based on the information provided in the table below, HP is aiming for broad appeal, potentially attracting gamers who are considering upgrading from an older 1080p FHD 22- or 24-inch monitor. With that being the case, you can upgrade to one of these HP X model options and enjoy a larger screen with a quicker refresh rate, or perhaps decide that 1440p is a shift you want to make in the future. Customers are also given the option of choosing between curved or flat screens, which is a nice touch.

While these displays aren't pushing the envelope in any way, they do provide an extensive range of interesting possibilities at a reasonable price for the masses. The Omen brand will be responsible for more complex and esoteric designs for gamers, with innovations such as even higher resolutions, faster variable refresh rates, better HDR compatibility and so on. Similarly, higher-end consumer products are promoted under sub-brands such as Envy or Spectre.
