This is a bit of a gnarly shaky-cam version you guys. But it does contain almost the entire interview that lasted roughly an hour and a half.

Sorry, but things are turning out to be more about who's paying who more.
Wonder how much nVidia paid them and vice versa for AMD and DICE.
I will judge Mantle and it's potential once it launches for BF4 in Dec.

The problem with Mantle is adoption. When Anandtech and others originally reported that Mantle was the low level API for Xbox One, I was like HOOOLY SHIEEEET Mantle is going to gain massive traction. Now that it's confirmed that the One doesn't even support Mantle it's like meh. What game company is going to want to maintain two separate versions of their engine?
I still think AMD is going to benefit for having their GCN in consoles -- but my bet is that Mantle won't take off at all.

Somewhat lukewarm reaction to mantle. Carmack said that it's possible to get rather close to metal access with NVIDIA cards using NVIDIA OpenGL extensions. We'll see but it could be that in the end Mantle is not going to be big thing.
