Guru3D eVGA SR-2 article progress update - Beaux is the King !

You guys know we are still hard at work with our eVGA SR-2 article. Beaux is testing stability and seeks maximum overclocks, as explained before this dual socket motherboard will be tested at three stages, air, liquid-cooling and liquid nitrogen. We now reached stage three, Liquid Nitrogen where things get completely crazy !

Six to seven LN2 pots are used per session depending on what the goal that money is. Beaux reported back that he's using 40 liters of Liquid Nitrogen PER HOUR ! So he had to get himself an assistant helping him poor all the LN2.

The processors (Six-core  Xeon X5680) are now overclocked to a CPU frequency of 5500 MHz and we have four GeForce GTX 480 cards cards also LN2 cooled and overclocked to 1052 MHz on the core 2103 MHz on the shaders. We have some spiffy corsair memory running at 2200 MHz

Now we are going to keep the benchmarks a little quiet still, but here's a taste of what is coming Beaux passed 60.000 points in the P-score of 3DMark Vantage ;)

Have a look at a couple of photo's we took, we will bring you a full article with LOTS of photo's on this wicked experience this month.
