GPU Sales went up 39 percent in 2020

Scalpers, crypto, Covid, component shortages; there are many reasons behind the fact that graphics cards have become a hard-to-get product. Add to that demand, as GPU sales have gone up almost 40% in 2020.

And yeah, the GPU market will continue to grow in 2021. Compared to the first quarter of 2020, sales increased by 35 percent in the first quarter of this year. Year-over-year sales increased by no less than 39 percent. According to analysts at Jon Peddie Research, the GPU market, which includes chips from AMD, Intel, and Nvidia, reached 119 million units sold in the first quarter of 2021.

A notable forecast is that the share of discrete GPUs is expected to grow between 2020 and 2025. The CPU market also appears to be growing with a 39 percent year-over-year increase in unit sales. Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, and other board partners saw a seven percent increase between Q4 2020 and Q1 2021.

Can people already stop with "scalpers and miners" The last year there are hundereds of millions people stuck at home with nothing better to do than play games - there would be a massive shortage even without miners. Its the same with PS5 you just cant get them without involving miners. Not to mention that a new console generation just came out and they have to share manufactoring capacity with gpu's.
