But they occasionally update random users to a new release, before making that release generally available to everybody else. i.e., random numbers of us are made guinea pigs for the upgrade process.
That happened to me. I've already been upgraded to this new 32.0.1700.76. The date on the chrome.exe is 1/11. But in the same folder where chrome.exe is, they always back up the prior version to "old_chrome.exe". If I look at it, it's 32.0.1700.72, and is dated 1/6.

The last official stable release was 31.0.1650.63, released back in first week of December.

Slightly OT but for those who've already upgraded... is the UI still terrible?
Ie. does the menus still have big-ass spacing and eye-boiling white background?
I'm still on v. 27 as that's the last version before the UI started going south and I'd rather not go through the hassle of un/reinstall if someone else has tried it.
