Gigabyte AORUS Z490 Motherboard Lineup Leaked, Ready for PCIe Gen 4
Following ASRock, ASUS, MSI Gigabyte now as well has the issue their motherboard lineup leaked out. In specific I am talking about the Z490 motherboard lineup of course, based on Socket LGA1200 for Comet-lake, and later oN Rocket-Lake.
Much like the other brands, the boards seem to be PCIe Gen 4.0 'ready', as Comet lake will not be Gen 4, we expect the Rocket lake generation to take advantage of PCIe Gen 4. So it's all electrically prepared.
Gigabyte PCIe 4.0 Hardware Design
- 2x PCIE 4.0 Slot (Reinforced PCIe 4.0 x16 or x8/x8 with lower impedance)
- M.2 PCIe 4.0 Slot (M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot with lower impedance)
- PCIE 4.0 Turbo B-Clock (External clock generator for PCIe 4.0 overclocking)
- PCIE 4.0 Switches (Switch PCIe 4.0 x16 into PCIe x8/x8)
- PCIe 4.0 Re-driver (Boost & strengthen PCIe 4.0 signals to longer lengths)
- 3.3x Slot Signal Stability
- 4x Lower Low Signal Loss PCB
The content got posted and leaked over at Videocardz. Gigabyte will have quite a lineup, and the Master version does look very nice:

it doesn't seem to, they are getting more expensive because pcie 3.0 motherboards were cheap to make they were re-re-re-re-re-re-re-fresh of the same old tech pcie 4.0 actually required a layout and components/quality upgrade so....
pcie 4.0 is not going to be cheap until some time or the MB is going to be garbage quality and sacrifice a lot eslewhere
amd X570 and TRX40 motherboard are often 400+ for a reason

So...basically if they won't allow to upgrade (as they do most of the time) from Comet to Rocket lake this Pcie 4.0 ready is purely marketing, right?

What about the prices??? I´ve already seen some leaks suggesting that the Z490 MBs are going to be more expensive, starting at around 200€... It seems MBs are becoming more expensive.
