GeForce RTX 2060 12GB Equals Shader cores to RTX 2060 Super

GeForce RTX 2060 12GB Equals Shader cores to RTX 2060 Super

An Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 12GB is likely to be released soon, and as things look right now it'll have as many shader cores as the GeForce RTX 2060 Super. The RTX 2060 12GB would get announced in the first week or so of December.

The product would see a slightly higher default TDP of 184W (SUPER =175W). On paper, the card is supposed to be nearly identical to the 2060 SUPER, with the exception of the memory bandwidth: the 2060 SUPER has a 256-bit bus, whilst the 12GB SKU has a 192-bit bus (see below). Regarding the boost clock, two sources state that it is a 1650 MHz boost by default, with factory-overclocked models reaching speeds of 1690 MHz or higher mentions videocardz.

The NVIDIA RTX 2060 12GB is now scheduled to be released on December 7th as a less expensive alternative to the RTX 3060 12GB GPU (hopefully with better availability). It's worth mentioning that the RTX 3060 12GB is approximately 8 percent faster than the RTX 2060 SUPER when it first launched. PCIe Gen4 and ResizableBAR support, on the other hand, will not be available on the Turing model.

I suppose slower GDDR6 is so much more abundant and cheaper that Nvidia didn't choose to compensate for the narrower bus width by using faster memory. After all, this whole card is kind of a band-aid solution to the current crisis in the graphics card market, so it doesn't really matter. After all, under normal circumstances Nvidia wouldn't even release something like this.

My understanding is it's using the PCB of the 3060 which is why it's 192bit bus apparently they are pin compaible.

it's because they don't even have to try to compete with the rx6600,they can do that with an old gen card.their old gen card has the same non-rt performance and packs more features than amd's newest one.
