GeForce GTX 560 being prepped
It seems that NVIDIA has been sitting and waiting on AMD to release the 6900 series cards and now will introduce a GTX 560 to target the Radeon HD 6950. According to expreview the GTX 560 is a GF104 chip, it is redesigned to allow high-clock speeds with lower power draw. And we all know that one shader cluster (SM) was left inactive on that series. The screenshot suggest a GF110 by the way.
The GeForce GTX 560 would 384 CUDA cores, 32 ROPs, and a 256-bit wide memory interface that connects to 1 GB of memory. The new GPU has bolstered high GPU clock speeds, with 820 MHz core, 1640 MHz CUDA cores, and 4000 MHz (GDDR5 effective) memory, churning out 128 GB/s memory bandwidth. The GTX 560 is expected in January, 2011, all this is speculation, of course.
