Galaxy dual-GPU GeForce GTS 250 card

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 01/21/2010 12:30 PM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Galaxy always designs a dual-GPU board every now and then. Then they a press-release and a board for review to one or two media sites .. and then these dual-GPU cards are never to be heard from again. Marketing blizz folks -- brand recognition.

Anyways, Galaxy developed a dual-GPU graphics card with two GeForce GTS 250 GPUs. Basically, this model seems to be a spicy single-PCB version of the GeForce 9800 GX2 with lower power consumption.  The two GPUs are placed on a single PCB, and the Low Power edition G92-426 GPUs are expected to bring down the power draw. The graphics board also features one BR04 bridge chip and 16 pieces of 0.8ns DRAM chips. Each GPU is served by 1GB of memory and a 256-bit of memory interface.

The card features 6-phase power supply design and employs Bussmann choke which boasts up to 2MHz frequency.  Check out the thumbnails.
