In Railway Empire, you will create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network, purchase over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, and buy or build railway stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to keep your travel network ahead of the competition.

You’ll also need to hire and manage your workforce if you want to ensure an efficient train service, whilst also develop over 300 technologies ranging from mechanical improvements to the trains themselves to workplace infrastructures and advanced amenities as you progress through five eras of technological innovations.

A great game, true successor to Railroad Tycoon 2.
Shame the moment it bacame interesting with the Australia DLC, stopped development and moved to Port Royale 4 the company

To anyone who might ask which DLC, get Australia if only one you want to buy. You can build towns, which you cannot do to other maps.

In other news, Transport Fever and Transport Fever 2 is an even better alternative, if you loved the Railroad Tycoon series.

They are both pretty bad and nowhere near close to RRT games. TF and TF2 are similar are closer to Cities in Motion than RT tbh. What might be close is Transport Tycoon.

RWT was all about trains, industries, missisons, market, competitors. Several of these are missing from the TF which is more simulator than fun railroad game like RRT.
