First leaked 3DMark benchmarks show Radeon RX 7900 cards close to GeForce RTX 4080
Alleged synthetic test results for AMD's RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX have leaked. It is 4k and 1440p tests from Time Spy and Fire Strike tests / 3DMark.
In TimeSpy, the RX 7900 XTX trails the RTX 4080 by 2% at 4K Extreme, while the 4080 is around 10% quicker at 1440p resolution. Surprisingly, there is nearly no difference between the 7900 XTX and XT at 4K. However, the dissimilarity expands to 4% with the 1440p preset. Although the RX 7900 XT performs almost as well as the RTX 4080, its bigger sibling scores 10% higher than the RTX 4080 in Fire Strike, based on the older DirectX11 API. Additionally, the performance gap between the RTX 4090 and the RX 7900 XTX is narrower in this benchmark, with NVIDIA gaining an advantage of 32.2% (4k) and 21.2% (1440p), respectively.
Card | Time Spy Extreme (4K) | TimeSpy (1440p) |
---|---|---|
RTX 4090 | 19,489 | 35,920 |
RTX 4080 | 14.005 | 28,049 |
RX 7900 XTX | 13,729 | 25,437 |
RX 7900 XT | 13,687 | 23,897 |
RTX 3090 Ti | 11,313 | 21,734 |
RX 6950 XT | 10,681 | 21,844 |
It's not clear whether the tests were run with fully-fledged drivers, but these scores are at least in line with AMD's claims that the RX 7900 series should compete with the RTX 4080. AMD has announced suggested retail prices of $899 and $999 for the two RX 7000 GPUs, equivalent to roughly 1,049 and 1,159 euros depending on VAT.
Card | Fire Strike Ultra (4K) | Fire Strike Extreme (1440p) |

RTX 4090 | 24,927 | 45,702 |
RX 7900 XTX | 18,853 | 37,702 |
RTX 4080 | 17,294 | 33,930 |
RX 7900 XT | 16,915 | 33,497 |

If the 4090 turned out to be 40% faster than 7900XTX in raster and 100% in RT, it would be the biggest beat down in the history of beat down

This is based on synthetic data collected from and confirmed it with multiple reviewers.
These reviewers have not signed an NDA??? And if they are not the ones who signed an NDA, how did they buy the cards and how did they find drivers to run 3Dmark?

notice the disparity between timespy that tests dx12 ultimate features and the older firestrike. looks bleak for rdna3, we knew the rt situation was not going to go well for amd but they might even lose more ground in newer non-rt games.
I smell a lot of dx11 4K in HUB's review.

This sounds a bit more realistic. Early and overly optimistic rumors were saying XTX is closer to 4090 than 4080.
