First AMD X470 Motherboard Caught On Camera - Reveals little change

Over at CES some of the motherboard partners from AMD are showing the first motherboards based on the upcoming AMD X470 chipset. Pretty much there's isn't much new stuff to be found, so the chipset likely is mostly an enhancement to support the future processors.

AMD announced earlier today that X470 chipset based motherboards will become available in April this year, to be paired with Vega embedded APUs that will become available on the market in the very same timeframe. The first photos of an X470 motherboard have now surfaced, courtesy of GamersNexus, on the photo you can see a Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 WiFi.

As you can observe, it pretty much is the same as the X370 counter-part aside from small differences in phases and cooling. You can spot four DIMM slots, three PCI-e x16 slots (x16, x8 and 4 ) and dual m.2 SSD slots. Based on what we see, X470 will mostly be about the intent to support the second generation Ryzen processors.

I'm wondering more about what is this thing on right side? PCI-Ex x1 ports placement and number of them is sick.

From what I read x470 has only to do with removing the 1x PCIe 2.0 support and replacing it with 1xPCIe 3.0 support, but my recollection is hazy on that point.
