Death Stranding for PC to get NVIDIA DLSS 2.0

Hideo Kojima and Kojima productions DEATH STRANDING arrives on PC July 14th, replete with new PC features, graphical enhancements, and performance-accelerating NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 technology.

If you haven’t heard of the game before now, DEATH STRANDING casts players as Sam Bridges. In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the DEATH STRANDING. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam to journey across the ravaged wasteland to save mankind from impending annihilation.

DEATH STRANDING is rendered by Guerrilla Games’ Decima Engine with beautiful, realistic photogrammetry textures, high definition models, and stunning landscapes. In addition, the PC edition of DEATH STRANDING is enhanced with a range of new features, headlined by NVIDIA DLSS 2.0. Powered by dedicated AI processors in GeForce RTX GPUs, called Tensor Cores, DLSS 2.0 is a deep learning neural network that boosts frame rates while generating beautiful, crisp game images. It gives gamers the performance headroom to maximize game settings and increase output resolutions, for a superior, higher-fidelity experience. To learn more, stay tuned to GeForce.com for our DEATH STRANDING DLSS article that’ll go live nearer to the game’s release.

“DEATH STRANDING already has the reputation of being a visual stunner, but NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 helps make the PC debut something special. The extra performance NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 delivers in DEATH STRANDING allows gamers to unlock the vast graphical potential of the PC platform by increasing the graphics settings and resolution, delivering on the vision we have for the game.” - Akio Sakamoto, CTO KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS.

As well as DLSS 2.0 support, DEATH STRANDING on PC features support for high frame rates and immersive ultra-wide monitors; introduces a new, powerful photo mode for capturing awesome in-game shots; and gives players full control over graphics options, such as Ambient Occlusion, Anti-Aliasing, Model Detail, Motion Blur, Screen Space Reflections, and Shadow quality. And of course, there are a full suite of options for controls and other standard PC settings.

Meanwhile, in an early test on a pre-release build Tom's Hardware reports that the game With DLSS 2.0 allows for 4K and 60 FPS on Any RTX GPU.

4K 60fps on any RTX GPU means 2060 and above. But 1st part of statement is false. It is not 4K, end of story.

Awesome that this PS4 game is coming to PC as well as the superb Horizon Zero Dawn but, honestly, I just could not get into it. It looks fantastic visually but the bizarre post-apocalyptic world of ghosts and deadly rain setting combined with clunky, awkward gameplay - essentially you are just wandering slowly from point A to B delivering stuff with very little interesting to see or do between - is just borderline dull. It is certainly atmospheric but I found the game world to be bland and empty. This game is a real slog to play in my opinion. Wanted to like it so much as it looks amazing. Oh well.

Started watching some gameplay, grew bored after 1h. Still, at a decent price, i'll get it.
