Crystal Dynamics: next Tomb Raider is built on Unreal Engine 5

In conjunction with the debut of Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, a new Tomb Raider game was announced. This engine has been accessible to developers for some time and has already been included in a few demonstrations, such as the Matrix Awakens city demo.

This new engine has been verified by a number of gaming developers, including Crystal Dynamics. UE5 will be used in the future Tomb Raider game. This means that Tomb Raider will be using a different engine than the Foundation engine, which is what most game developers are doing these days. CD Project Red has announced that they are working on a Witcher game that would run on the UE5 engine. It's just recently been confirmed that both are in development, fans of the series should be patient.

Unreal engine 5 is taking over. My friend is hyped for Entropia Universe moving away also from Cryengine.

On one hand i'm happy, i like unreal and i work on unreal although this is very rapidly starting to converge into absurd tier monopoly where everything that isn't a lower end indie/mobile game on Unity immediately becomes UE project.
It's a good, convenient and competent engine and i like working in it but monopoly is never good.

Sounds like an issue on your machine. Never have stutters with any UE game. Optimise your system.
