Corsair Kinda Recalls the Corsair Hydro H110i GT

Corsair Kinda Recalls the Corsair Hydro H110i GT

Yesterday some etailers posted information that the Corsair Hydro H110i GT would be recalled. Mixed signals all over, it has been rectified to be a channel recall. Basically if you purchased the product and the plastic that wraps the cooler does not show coolant, you will be fine. More after the break.

The recall is based on reports that at -10 Degrees C (yes that's negative -10 C), the product could leak. Now it is a good cooler, but not that good in cooling !! Pun aside, so during transport albeit incredibly unlikely at sub-zero temps, the cooler could leak. If you already have the product installed and averything was A-OK, no worries. So this is not a public recall.

Here is the explanation from Corsair:

As a precautionary measure, Corsair has recalled the H110i GT from our resellers for screening. Here’s some information about what this means to you.

  1. We discovered that when some units are exposed to extremely cold, sub-freezing temperatures during shipment, they can leak small amounts of coolant.
  2. This problem can be immediately identified when the box is opened as some users noticed small drops of coolant in the plastic bag surrounding the unit.
  3. If there has been no coolant leaked in the package, the unit should operate normally and with no problems.

Though we have seen no failures of units during operation, and have tested units in a wide variety of conditions to verify they have not leaked once installed, we understand that this can be disconcerting. If you have purchased this product and have a concern, please contact your reseller or Corsair directly to return the product. We will likely not have replacement units available for six weeks, as the entire recall, screening, and remanufacturing process takes significant shipping time.

Thank you for purchasing Corsair, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

So there you have it, read our review on this product right here.

Wonder why the normal H100i wasn't recalled when people with Intel realised they had to mod the block with extra washers to get it to fit properly

Lately in the states we have been going through crazy winter stroms. last night it was Tennesse coldest night every in recorded history. Its -3 right now.
And I live in the south.
Lots of semis and large trucks have been stranded due to the ice storms we had.

Dont know how much this effects the whole world these ship too though.

Here in central Europe it is very cold too, hanging around 0C at day.
It is probably due to Global Warming masking itself.
