Computex 2015: Nvidia

Computex 2015: Nvidia

You know, typically on exhibitions you will hear NVIDIA … NVIDIA … NVIDIAAAAAAH from the crowd - as that is what you will hear all day long at the Nvidia booths. Not this time, they went low profile and had a demo room exclusively for press and customers.

The biggest release of course is the GeForce GTX 980 Ti which we covered in-depth in our 37 page review already. Nvidia however also has their latest Shield console that runs Android TV. The unit is working on Android TV and gets the new Tegra X1 SoC. Internal storage memory is 16GB and the system work memory is 3GB.  I cant say 'too much about it as we need to actually test it in-house, but its looking good. I requested a review unit which we hopefully will receive soon.

So there isn't much to show exclusively photo's wise, the demo room has an awesome VR (Oculus) presentation that I was able to withness plus tons of PCs running DX12 demos and Gsync for mobile, five gaming laptops will include the new display technology, in both 15- and 17-inch sizes, and available in resolutions ranging from 1080p to 4K. Below a couple of photos take an the booth for brevity's sake and to get you an idea of what they are demonstrating.

For full info on the GeForce GTX 980 Ti, please check our review.

Goooo HIIILBEEERT! :D

Can't wait to see your Shield review, and what things you'll test once you've got the tablet in hand.

I'm not sure why, but I want the shield console if the price is right. I'd probably use it more than Xbox One and PS4 I have. All the games released for them I buy on PC for obvious reasons, the only console I play now is the Wii U as it offers totally different experiences.

It's not a tablet :)

It's a mix of set-top box and console with Android TV.

Aahhhhh well that explains everything. Now I know what they would need 500GB in such a thing for.... thanks muddy ;)
