BenQ releases PD2700U UltraHD monitor for color precise work

It has been available for a couple of weeks already but BenQ released an Ultra HD monitor based on a 60Hz 10-bit IPS panel (10bit without FRC), the PD2700U is a 27-inch ultra HD monitor which is intended for professional users and designers.

The monitor fills 100% of the sRGB color spectrum and comes factory calibrated at the factory. BenQ notes that response time is 5 milliseconds (gray to gray), the contrast ratio 1300: 1 and the maximum brightness 350 candelas per square meter. End users can set a color preset mode: REC.709 / sRGB / HDR/CAD/CAM / Animation / Low Blue Light / Dark Room / User.

  • 100% Rec.709 and sRGB color space with IPS Technology
  • DualView function
  • Darkroom, CAD/CAM and Animation Display Mode

The connectivity includes one display port 1.4, one mini display port1.4, one hdmi2.0 and four usb3.0 connectors. In addition to daisy-chain functionality, the monitor also has a built-in KVM switch for two devices.

-- BenQ -- Designers never settle for mediocrity, and BenQ’s DesignVue PD2700U designer monitor delivers absolute color precision and ultra-high resolution to help designers fulfill their brilliant ideas. Empowered by BenQ’s exclusive AQCOLOR technology and 4K UHD resolution, PD2700U brings out the clarity and color precision that designers and gurus have been yearning for. Coupling with 3 special modes tailored for different scenarios, PD2700U allows designers in different fields to achieve the same level of excellence.

Covering 100% of sRGB and Rec. 709 color spaces, PD2700U’s advanced IPS wide viewing angle technology minimizes color shift to inspire absolute design confidence. 100% sRGB color gamut accuracy adheres to industry standards in digital production, and Rec. 709 reproduces accurate resolution, frame rate, color gamut, gamma, and white point performance in high-definition video work.

The BenQ PD2700U has been priced in the 500 Euro/USD marker.

"100% Rec.709"

That should not be something to be proud of. If your monitor cant even do that, then chuck it in the bin.
