ASUSTOR Launches AS6004U Storage Capacity Expansion Unit

ASUSTOR launches first generation storage capacity expansion unit AS6004U featuring 4 disk bays, compatible with largest hard disks on the market (10 TB), utilizes USB 3.0 interface for plug and play convenience.

In order to allow enterprises to quickly expand the storage capacity of their ASUSTOR NAS devices, ASUSTOR Inc. is announcing the launch of a new product line, featuring the new AS6004U storage capacity expansion unit. The AS6004U utilizes a USB 3.0 high speed port connection allowing it to connect to any USB 3.0 port on the rear panel of ASUSTOR NAS devices, quickly completing local storage capacity expansion with ease. Worth mentioning is that the AS6004U helps users to save power by automatically entering into sleep mode when the NAS is powered off. When the NAS is powered on again, the device will automatically wake allowing service to continue.

The AS6004U is equipped with 4 disk bays and is compatible with the largest hard disks on the market (10 TB). It supports hard disk hot swapping, RAID volume configurations and AES 256-bit encryption that ensures the protection of critical data. While using ASUSTOR’s 31/32/50/51/61/62/70 series NAS devices, users will be able to simultaneously connect up to 3 AS6004U units and expand their storage capacity by a maximum of 120 TB. Furthermore, the AS6004U also supports ASUSTOR’s exclusive MyArchive cold backup technology. This function essentially allows users to achieve unlimited storage expansion and with ASUSTOR NAS’s cross platform support, provides flexible storage management for businesses.

“As the scale of a business grows, storage capacity will gradually become insufficient. Undoubtedly, being able to seamlessly expand storage capacity while not interfering with service is extremely important,” said Johnny Chen, Product Manager at ASUSTOR. “The AS6004U provides an expedient and stress-free storage expansion solution for ASUSTOR NAS users. The specially designed cable brackets ensure that all cables stay connected during the expansion process, ensuring that service is never interrupted.”

Key Features for the AS6004U

  • Ultra-High-Speed Transfer Interface: SuperSpeed USB 3.0 (5 GB/s)
  • Online NAS Storage Capacity Expansion (Can Expand a Maximum of 3 Devices Simultaneously)
  • Online Storage Capacity Expansion via MyArchive
  • Smart Power Sync Mechanism:, Can Automatically Enter Sleep Mode When NAS Powers Off. Can Automatically Wake When NAS Powers On Helping to Save Power.
  • Supports 4 Hard Disks
  • Hot-Swappable Hard Disk Design
  • Supported Volumes: Single, JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10
