ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM has a refresh rate of 280Hz

It started shipping last month already but ASUS released the VG279QM monitor in their TUF range of products. And while we feel the refresh rate race has passed the point of common sense, it's listed at 280 hz.

We already reported about this monitor in Q4 2019, but it's available, the launch of ASUS "TUF Gaming VG279QM" , a gaming liquid crystal display that supports the refresh rate of 280 Hz, which claims to be the world's fastest monitor.

The liquid crystal panel has a wide viewing angle and uses an IPS panel with little change in color, and supports a high-speed response of 1 ms. Vertical sync supports Adaptive-Sync and G-Sync Compatible and also supports "Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync" which uses ASUS "ELMB" and vertical sync technology at the same time.

The main specifications are 400 cd/m2 brightness, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 16.77 million display colors. The interface was equipped with HDMI2.0 × 2, DisplayPort1.2 × 1, 3.5mm stereo mini-jack and built-in 2W × 2 stereo speakers.

The body size is 620mm in width, 211mm in-depth, 377-507mm in height, and 5.6kg in weight. The stand supports -5 to 33 ° tilt, -90 to 90 ° swivel, -90 to 90 ° pivot, and 0 to 130mm height adjustment. The Asus TUF Gaming VG279QM is available with an MSRP of $400

Dunno, they are fine till there are sub 400 gpu's that can take advantage of 1440p at those refresh rates. 5700XT is barelly sufficient for me at locked 120hz at 1080p. That depends on what you are playing though.
