ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme Launches
ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today received record-breaking results from overclockers using the ROG Zenith II motherboard, proving that the AMD® RyzenTM ThreadripperTM 3970X processor is the new undisputed leader in 32-core performance.
Expertly engineered for those who demand full control, ROG Zenith II Extreme is designed to unleash the full force of the latest 3rd Generation Ryzen Threadripper processors. The board features a teamed power solution comprised of sixteen TDA21472 power stages that are topped with an actively-cooled heatsink. This allows massive amounts of current to be delivered while keeping thermals under tight control. I/O specifications are equally impressive: the platform’s class-leading PCIe® 4.0 lane count has been spread across a selection of M.2 and expansion slots, while utilising the latest onboard controllers to fuel 10G Ethernet, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and WiFi 6.
Leveraging the prodigious power of the Zenith II Extreme, hardcore overclockers were able to shatter a variety of benchmark records at CPU frequencies exceeding 5500 MHz across all cores.
Jeong Soonho, known on HWBot as “safedisk”, rigged his Zenith II Extreme with an Antec 1300 W PSU and a liquid nitrogen cooler from Kingpin Cooling, and smashed three of the most envied records: Geekbench® 3, Cinebench® R15, and GPUPI for CPU 1B. Mike Nees (a.k.a. “keeph8n”) cleaned up no less than six different records, including the top benchmarks for Geekbench 4 Multi Core, 3DMark® 11 Physics, and both the GPUPI 3.3 1B and GPUPI 3.3 100M categories. Alexandru Nedelcu from Romania (“Alex@ro”) took the HWBot x264 1080p rendering category after winning the G.Skill® OC World Cup 2019 previously this year. Roberto Sannino (“rsannino”) cranked his CPU to 5579 MHz and his Galax Hall of Fame DIMMs over 4000 MHz to shred the wPrime 1024M test in just over 14 seconds.
All records are listed in the table below, and ROG congratulates all the overclockers for their stellar performances!
