ASUS as well offers GTX 1060 and 1080 STRIX with faster memory

ASUS as well offers GTX 1060 and 1080 STRIX with faster memory

Much like the MSI announcement I just posted, ASUS as well will be offering a GeForce TX 1060 and 1080 STRIX with faster memory. They tag them as OC edition.

The GeForce GTX 1080 STRIX OC has 11 Gbps GDDR5X memory (ROG-STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-11GBPS) and the 6 GB GTX 1060 STRIX OC (GTX1060-O6G-9GBPS) now has 9 Gbps GDDR5. The 1080 SKUs will get its memory at an extra ~10% in memory bandwidth. Unless the boards are clocked faster, we doubt a little if the increase in memory frequency will have a substantial enough performance increase.

The STRIX GTX 1080 features triple-fan DirectCU III cooling solution, which is 2-slot in design. In terms of circuit design, we are looking at 8+2 phase power delivery with 6+8pin connectors. It is a bit unclear when these models will be available, we expected them this week already TBH. However it seems that will be early April then. Prices have not yet been announced.

More info on the 1060 here, and on the 1080 here.

That 1060s a 580 competitor (overclocked 480).
