AMD Zen 4 (AM5 ) processors look to get an IGP as default and double L2 caches

AMD Zen 4 (AM5 ) processors look to get an IGP as default and double L2 caches

AMD's future generation Ryzen processors based on the Zen 4 might come equipped with integrated graphics. Details leaked, from the ransomware attack on Gigabyte with files being leaked indicate this.

This is not the first time that this concept has been floated: more than four months ago, an unauthorized roadmap indicated that Zen 4 (anticipated to ship with Ryzen 7000) would ship with an integrated graphics card as standard. This round the information comes from an internal AMD document that comprises a table listing the characteristics of several socket am5 processors. All three of the CPU types described are said to feature graphics and to be able to drive four display outputs at the same time. Three of them can be connected to a computer via USB-C. (DP Alt Mode).

Chips and Cheese on their end mention that "not all" items will be able to display the pictures. Because the graphics card appears to be physically present everywhere, it is possible that AMD will offer some models in which the graphics card is malfunctioning or has been soldered off. Essentially, this would be comparable to the F chips that Intel has been selling for a number of years.

The paper also demonstrates that AMD has made BIOS firmware updates via USB a built-in feature of the CPU, rather than requiring motherboard vendors to develop their own method. It is advised that a button that allows this feature be installed on the motherboard.

Additionally, Zen 4 appears to increase the size of the l2 caches by a factor of two.

This new RDNA2-based integrated GPU's performance will be interesting to watch, given the integrated GPUs of the Ryzen 5000G line based on the Vega architecture now offer very good performance, as we recently discovered in our review of the Ryzen 7 5700G. With modern architecture and increased bandwidth provided by the use of DDR5 memory, it is unquestionably possible to obtain reasonable performance in games in the next generation without the usage of a dedicated graphics card.

I wish they did what intel is doing. Not every cpu needs an igpu so you have k/f/kf variants.

not really
more options is better
in fact it's what made buying intel so appealing recently

truth be told,if there was no 10700F sku i probably wouldn't buy an i7 this year
before I used to only buy cpus with igpu, even the crappiest but I decided to keep my current 1070 when I finally get a new one.
if you want an octa core under 300eur,which is imo the most compelling option, there's four sku's of 10700 vs one 3700X in the price range between 250-260 to 280-300 eur (new)

btw Undying,I was meaning to send you this test

told you before, tweaked 3800x is a beast for gaming
sure 5600x is compelling, and the 3d cache version will be even better, but it will be relatively more expensive too,and it's still a six core after all
buying previous generation is not obsolete,as a matter of fact it's usually a very good option

My post went completely over your head. It was a cheeky remark towards Undying. No harm meant, bit of an inside joke.
