AMD Radeon HD 6850 PCB Photo

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/21/2010 11:55 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

It won't be much longer now before they are released, but here's a picture of the Radeon HD 6850 dissected.

This seems to be AMD's reference design PCB of the 6850, as you can see it has a black color. We spot a 4+1+1 phase VRM, a CHIL-made VRM controller that might support software voltage control, power input from a single 6-pin PCI-E power connector,

Monitor connectivity seems to be two DVI, one HDMI, and two mini-DisplayPort connectors. If we can believe the rumors the Radeon HD 6850 has 960 stream processors 32 ROPs, 48 TMUs, and a 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface holding 1 GB of memory. All that is clocked at 775 MHz, and memory at 1000 MHz (4000 MHz GDDR5 effective). Check the thumbnail, the photo is courtesy of its respective owner.
