AMD Radeon R9-290X makes photo and benchmark appearance in Montreal

Funny how things work, currently a selection of press including yours truly is in Montreal / Canada to attend a technology briefing organized by NVIDIA. AMD figured, hmm let's go to the Hilton Hotel roughly 100 meters away from where NVIDIA is holding that technology briefing and invite some press and generic public over. Suffice to say, today Guru3D quickly visited that AMD conference room where they have setup a GeForce GTX 780 versus Radeon R9-290X running 4K resolution monitors (Ultra High Definition). Have a peek after the break for some photo's we took alongside some benchmarks.

So AMD was showing very little TBH, and the showcase is a ... hmm how to put it, a not so sexy executed prank to rain on NVIDIA's parade. Anyhow, we had a peek, a quick chat and looked at some performance numbers. So without further ado, have a peek at the photo's and the following limited benchmarks.

Please do understand that the benchmarks results have NOT been taken at Guru3D setups. These systems have been created by AMD. Our actual review will (soon) will show everything you need to know based on our own test results.
