AMD Lines up Radeon RX 7900 series to GeForce RTX 4080

AMD released additional information on their new RX 7900 series just two days before NVIDIA's RTX 4080 debut, in an attempt to detract attention from NVIDIA's upcoming product.

In addition to being physically more compact, AMD cards also eliminate the need for cumbersome power connectors. Since AMD has previously stated that the Radeon RX 7900 series will compete with the RTX 4080 SKU, there is no question that the RTX 4090 will continue to be the fastest gaming card for the time being. AMD highlights the compact size and reduced profile of its Radeon RX 7900 graphics cards compared to the NVIDIA RTX 4080. (Founders Edition). The PCIe Express 4.0 interface is the only shared denominator. AMD will provide enhanced memory and screen options within the $900–$1200 price range.

The RX 7900 XTX features all 96 RDNA3 compute units or 6,144 stream processors on the "Navi 31" silicon, whereas the RX 7900 XT is equipped with 84 compute units or 5,376 stream processors. Memory configurations vary between the two GPUs. The RX 7900 XTX has 24 GB of 20 Gbps GDDR6 with a 384-bit memory interface (960 GB/s), whereas the RX 7900 XT has 20 GB of 20 Gbps GDDR6 with a 320-bit memory interface (800 GB/s).The RX 7900 XTX has a Game Clocks frequency of 2300 MHz and boost clocks of 2500 MHz, whereas the RX 7900 XT has a Game Clocks frequency of 2000 MHz and boost clocks of 2400 MHz.

AMD is now comparing its new RDNA3 GPUs to the RX 6950XT because the GeForce RTX 4080 has not yet been released (RDNA2 flagship). The company is providing a raytracing performance chart and a rasterization performance chart. AMD's Radeon RX 7900 series is still a month away from release.

One month to way. Not too long.
Will we get reviews sooner, or will we have to wait until the 13th of December?
