AMD launches $999 Radeon R9 295X2 promo

AMD launches $999 Radeon R9 295X2 promo

It's a pretty good price of you ask me. AMD offers a Radeon R9 295X2 promotion and is selling this dual-gpu card for $999,. That saves 33.3% off the card from its original 1,499 launch price.

TPU noted this promotion, I haven't heard AMD themselves about it though. Just checking New-egg and some EU price watch engines shows normal pricing though.

So it is unknown when and where this promotion will be available. The card will ship with its usual Radeon Rewards package, giving you access to  free games.

Even the AMD shop hasn't picked it up yet...maybe TPU is pulling an S|A on sites that don't mention their sources.

Well done AMD for finally selling a dual gpu card at a reasonable price.

I hope that this insane price for dual/top-end GPUs experiment - particularly from Nvidia has failed.

They probably would've sold it for this price much sooner if it weren't for bitcoin miners. Now that bitcoin is starting to lose interest to a lot of people, AMD is finally able to catch up in manufacturing so the prices can finally drop.

Anyway, $1000 is still much more than I'm willing to spend. I'd rather buy 3 or 4 mid-range GPUs every other year and just barely keep up with games at 1080p. If I can crossfire/SLi those GPUs, or use them for something like physx, then that's even better (and what I'm currently doing). I'm a fan of re-purposing old hardware, and something as power hungry, hot, and huge as the R9 295x2 is not the kind of product that should be put in grandma's PC.
