AMD Budget R3 Series SSDs spotted
AMD silently released R3 series of SSDs. The SSDs value oriented and use TLC NAND with a Silicon motion SM2256KX controller. This SSD will come with a 3-year warranty and is fully compatible with both AMD and Intel hardware.
Superior in value and performance. Get up to 10x the speed of a traditional hard drive. Bring new life to your tired PC for far less cost than you would expect. AMD Releases R3 Series of SSDs Being a Value oriented SSD we never expected to see this SSD achieve chart-topping performance, but the 240GB model and above are able to achieve speeds of 520MB/s reads and 470MB/s writes, which is pretty good for a budget oriented SSD. Full specifications for the AMD Radeon R3 SSD below. AMD Releases R3 Series of SSDs Right now these SSDs are available in the US and Canada, with the US pricing being as follows, $40.99 for the 120GB model, $69.99 for the 240GB model and $136.99 for the 480GB model. These prices came from Amazon US.

Hell they need to make and market as much parts as they can at this rate, Intel does the same thing but they actually remain in the higher-end of Ssd's.
I wonder whats next>? Maybe a Radeon 1000 watt powersupply? Just imagine all your gear being from one vendor, would be cool to say the least.

Why the 960 GB SSD is slower than the smaller ones?

But the EVO still suffers from electrical degradation of data at 3-6 months. You must keep your system powered on so the poor MGX controller can constantly move that data around or you get corruption and dirt slow read speeds as error correction takes place. Samsung has been blazing the way in technology but has a mountain of problems to go along with it.

480GB OCZ Trion 150 is about same price and performance. That SM2256KX, no other drives have it (at least not in quick google search). So, this may be design upon AMD's request.
I think they may be nice for Raid 0. And very attractive for new system builds.
And more drives with lower price, the better.
