Affordable Patriot Torch SSDs start listing

Patriot will be out-ting a new SSD series based on the Phison PS3110 controller. The new unit will get a 16 nm synchronous MLC NAND flash treatment. The top SKU will do 555 MB/s reads, with 535 MB/s writes. All that for compelling prices of course.

The Patriot Torch Solid-State Drive (SSD) is the perfect way to enhance computer system response times and gaming performance. The Torch offers transfer speeds of up to 555 MB/s read and 535 MB/s write to eliminate bottlenecks. Using a SATAIII 6Gb/s interface that's also backwards compatible with SATAII 3GB/s connections, the Torch SSD provides much greater performance than mechanical HDDs. At only 7mm high, in a 2.5” form factor, the Torch is also perfect for any ultrabook or laptop upgrade.

Patriot's Torch SSD comes in two sizes for every user at 120GB, and 240GB. The drive includes intelligent advanced wear-leveling and ECC Recovery at 72bits/1KB, to provide an extended life. With the Torch, Patriot has continued its commitment to aggressive pricing to offer one of the best price-per performance options on the market. Backed by Patriot's award winning build quality and 3-year warranty; the Patriot Torch is an extremely reliable SSD and should be at the heart of your next system build or upgrade.

  • Phison SSD controller paired with qualified 16nm Synchronous MLC NAND flash for best performance, value and reliability
  • SATA III 6Gbps/SATA II 3Gbs
  • Sequential read & write transfer speeds: up-to 545MB/s read; 430MB/s write
  • TRIM support (OS dependent)
  • Advanced wear-leveling for extended drive life
  • 3-year warranty
  • OS support: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, Mac OS, and Linux
The 240 GB variant offers sequential transfer rates of up to 555 MB/s reads, with 535 MB/s writes; while the 120 GB variant offers 545 MB/s reads, with 430 MB/s writes. The 240 GB variant is priced at US $106.11, while the 120 GB variant goes for $66.63.
