Acer Predator XB271Hbmiprz 27-Inch Gaming Monitor
Again a Full HD monitor, ACER outs their new XB271Hbmiprz (not that's not a typo!). The screen has a TN panel and is GSYNC compatible.
The 27-inch TN LED-backlight monitor supports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and provides 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 1ms (GTG) response time and 170/160 degree viewing angles.
The monitor comes with a number of advanced features including ‘Dark Boost’ function – increasing the visibility of the dark scenes, ‘Gaming View’ mode – set the optimum image display in accordance with the game genre, ‘Flicker-Free Technology’ function and ‘Blue Light Filter’ function.
Ut has built-in stereo speakers, well for form really as they are 2Wx2, the Predator XB271Hbmiprz offers 1x HDMI 1.4, 1x DisplayPort 1.2 and 4-port USB 3.0 hub. The Acer Predator XB271Hbmiprz will go on sale from August 25th for around 70,000 Yen (which is shockingly roughly $690).

An AHVA panel @ 144-165 Hz is not as smooth as TN at 144 Hz. There's even 180 Hz TN and soon 240 Hz (Asus). Talking about true 180 and 240 Hz here.
An no, I don't use TN or high Hz. I use AH-IPS 60 Hz. But I can easily see the difference between TN 144 Hz and AHVA 165 Hz. TN is much faster. So I understand why they still sell TN. AHVA also has massive bleeding and glow issues.

Human eye (and brain) in general can't process more than 50-60 images per second, so it is highly improbable you can actually see the difference between 144 and 165Hz, even if you fall in <1% of world population with hyper-sensitive eyes.
May be you mean something different, like seeing subtle differences in color accuracy, but it is still highly questionable.
If you really see some distortions (given you somehow check different monitors connected to identical PCs) – may be it is not the issue with display, but rather with respective PC…

FullHD... TN... and a whopping price... it's going to be a "success".
I do wonder if any of these monitor makers perform reality checks before releasing yet another piece of... product.
On a side note - I am even more amazed that someone is still buying TN-based monitors.
