Acer offers H6502BD Full HD Projector at 3200 lumens for $699

Acer announced the availability of the 3,200 lumens Acer H6502BD home entertainment projector with LumiSense+ intelligent color enhancement.

LumiSense+ features an embedded light sensor that detects ambient light conditions to optimize projected image brightness levels and color saturation. Leveraging clever content-aware technology, it analyzes projected content frame by frame and dynamically adjusts image visibility to the ideal level.

“Our latest projector simplifies home theater by automatically adjusting images to suit ambient light conditions and projecting Full HD images in astonishing clarity,” said Ronald Lau, Acer America director – stationary products. “We’re confident consumers will be delighted with the Acer H6502BD’s ease of use and spectacular image quality.”

Wireless Capabilities; Practical Design
Maximizing space, the Acer H6502BD supports wireless projection with an optional dongle and a hidden internal compartment concealing the power supply and wireless adapter of the customer’s choice. This innovative design keeps the area neat and tidy and reduces the chances of the dongle being lost. The internal HDMI (MHL) port is compatible with a WirelessCAST/WirelessHD-Kit.(1) Customers can also display content wirelessly by installing Acer eDisplayPro and leveraging an Acer wireless adapter.(2) Acer eDisplayPro is compatible with Windows, iOS and Android and can mirror play from Android 4.2 or iOS 9 or later devices, ideal for sharing fun videos or travel photos with friends without having to crowd around a small display.

Powerful Sound; Primed for Multidimensional Entertainment
Boasting a powerful 10W built-in speaker, the Acer H6502BD projects dynamic audio without requiring external speakers. DLP and HDMI 3D ready, the projector delivers Blu-ray 1080p 3D content with a compatible Blu-ray player and 3D display. Users can watch 3D movies and play 3D games on a console or PC with DLP 3D glasses.

Superb Image Clarity
A native 1080p (1920x1080) wide format resolution displays brilliant Full HD visuals for true-to-life home theater. Its 16:9 aspect ratio fits the latest widescreen TVs. Dynamic Black technology creates excellent image contrast by analyzing content frame by frame. It dynamically adjusts dark scenes to optimal black levels, while maintaining brightness, delivering vibrant image quality and a high 20,000:1 contrast ratio.

Acer ColorBoost 3D combines a 6-segment color wheel design with a DLP® chip and lamp power control capability that improves optical color performance, while reducing color shifts and brightness decay for both 2D and 3D visuals. This advanced technology provides brighter, more realistic images and color fidelity. The Acer H6502BD also leverages ColorSafe II, which eliminates color decay and guarantees picture integrity even after prolonged use.

Compact, Convenient Top Loading Design
Compact, it measures 12.1 x 8.3 x 3.4-inches and weighs 5.3 lbs. Its top-loading lamp design allows quick replacement in just a few simple steps, even when ceiling mounted. The auto ceiling mount detects and instantly rotates the images by 180 degrees to ensure accurate orientation.

Multiple connectivity options include two HDMI ports with one offering MHL for charging smartphones and tablets as well as D-Sub and PC audio. An auto keystone correction automatically revises vertical distortions and the Acer Dust Resistant system protects the projector from airborne dust, helping extend the lifespan.

Acer SmartFormat supports all wide-format PC signals, eliminating unsupported signal issues and having to revise the resolution of the PC. Acer H6502BD doesn’t require a cooling period, so it powers up immediately after it has been turned off and can be packed immediately after use.

In addition to standard mode, the Acer H6502BD offers two energy saving modes to save power and costs. Standard mode provides up to 3,500 hours of lamp life, while ECO extends 5,000 hours and ExtremeECO as many as 6,500 hours.

Pricing and Availability
The new Acer H6502BD projector is offered through leading online retailers in the United States with a one-year limited parts and labor warranty for $699 MSRP.

Seems like an interesting projector for the money.

I need to replace my BenQ W1110 which was sadly stolen during a break in a few weeks back (they later caught the guy who is now in jail, but no sign of my stuff), that was a really nice projector. Shame it wasn't insured at the time, so this Acer's lower price has a certain appeal atm :)

Probably going to hold out for buying a BenQ 2000 though due to its support of Rec. 709 for great colour reproduction. That is unusual for such a cheap projector.

Not sure about the Acer, but due to some similar technologies maybe it is close to the W1110's excellent low input lag of under 10ms ?

Questions questions... time to go hunt down a review of this Acer H6502BD
