Acer Japan Releases three monitors under AOPEN brand name

Aopen is a name ai haven't heard for a long time. Back in the day, it was a brand that sold NVIDIA graphics cards, but over time closed its business.  The name now resurfaces as a sub-brand through Acer, in the monitor range.

Acer Japan announced three models of AOPEN brand LCD displays. Sales will begin on July 10.

The "32HC5QRPbiipx" is a 31.5-inch curved gaming liquid crystal display that supports a high refresh rate of 165Hz. The liquid crystal panel is VA based and the screen synchronization technology supports AMD Free Sync. The main specifications are response speed 5ms, brightness 300 cd/㎡, contrast ratio 4,000:1 (AMD 100 million:1), color reproducibility NTSC 72%, display color about 16.7 million colors, viewing angle horizontal/vertical 178° .. The interface is HDMI2.0x2, DisplayPort1.2x1, headphone terminal, etc. The main body size is width 712.6 mm, depth 198.4 mm, height 512.7 mm, and weight 5.20 kg. The product warranty is 3 years.

"24CL1Ybi" is a 23.8-inch full HD standard liquid crystal display that uses an IPS panel. The main specifications are response speed 5ms, brightness 250 cd/㎡, contrast ratio 1,000:1 (AMD 100 million:1), color reproducibility NTSC 72%, display color 16.7 million colors, viewing angle horizontal/vertical 178° .. The interface is HDMI 1.4 x 1, D-Sub x1.The main body size is 551 mm in width, 192 mm in depth, 389 mm in height, and 2.90 kg in weight. The product warranty is 3 years.

The "22CV1Qbi" is a 21.5-inch full HD standard liquid crystal display that uses a VA panel. The main specifications are response speed 5ms, brightness 250 cd/㎡, contrast ratio 3,000:1 (AMD 100 million:1), color reproducibility NTSC 72%, display color about 16.7 million colors, viewing angle horizontal/vertical 178° .. The interface is HDMI 1.4 x 1, D-Sub x1. The main body size is 503mm in width, 181mm in depth, 379mm in height, and 2.80kg in weight. The product warranty is 3 years.

Didn't AOPEN sell other things too? I specifically remember them from the mid to late 90's selling other stuff, before Nvidia had a strangle-hold on the market.
Back in the time when we ordered parts out of a catalog and not a website. Yes, that far back.
Beige plastic and green circuit boards and (majority of) games with no DRM, where you could just play them.

Acer Japan Releases three monitors under AOPEN brand name

AOpen never went anywhere really, they just quit the most visible markets they were in. They've been doing mostly industrial and commercial stuff, but they've had several gaming monitors before these new ones, too.

Thanks bud, I knew CD-ROM drives were one of them, and possibly cases, and surely a bunch of other things, but it's been so long. Appreciate the answer.

I do remember seeing their stuff all over on almost every table at computer shows.
