ZOTAC enrages PC gamers by promoting GeForce RTX as mining GPUs
The new cryptocurrency mining trend is unquestionably agitating the PC Gaming community. ZOTAC just got their ass handed back to them. On social media, ZOTAC USA posted a photo with a mining farm of ZOTAC cards; with the text An army of #ZOTACGAMING GPU's hungry for coin!
As anybody with a little sense could have anticipated; that tweet did not sit well see ... many gamers are paying double the price for a graphics card these days (if they even can get a hold of one) due to, amongst others, cryptocurrency mining. It seems ZOTAC grew a soft spot for miners, as well .. each card sold is a card sold, right?
Once the tweet got posted, ZOTAC received an avalanche of criticism for evangelizing cryptocurrency mining. Shortly thereafter, the tweet was removed.

this is actually kinda hilarious.
they're making more money mining on their own cards than selling them

How long before no one sell cards anymore as the card makers just end up making more money using their own stock to cryptomine. lol

We should make our own GPUs, with beer and... you know the rest.
I understand why Zotac does what it does, and it doesn’t surprise me. All I can do is respond in kind and never buy another Zotac product. And I never will.
