You can still update to Windows 10 for free with Media Creation Tool
Yes very possible and no, this is not the assistive technologies trick. If you are still running Windows 7 or 8.1 and would like to migrate to Windows 10 for free, that is possible. You can simply use the the Media Creation Tool. This is a free application Microsoft offers to create a Windows 10 installation medium such as an USB stick or DVD.
Ed Bott (Microsoft aficionado) spotted that the tool is offered for download on the Microsoft website and confirmed with several computers that you can upgrade for free saving you a $119 license fee for Windows 10 Home or $199 for Windows 10 Pro.
The Media Creation Tool links the current Windows license to the computer, based on the hardware components. After the installation the operating system will activate based on that license. For Microsoft it would be extremely easy to block Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 licenses but the company simply hasn't done so.
As you guys know, it also is still possible to upgrade throught he ‘assistive technology’ trick. However Microsoft announced that page will be removed and users requiring assistive technology will need to contact Microsoft in person.
That page is still available though.

That's complete BS.
You do realise there's also OEM hardware, right? Tell me, if I bought this, would I be using it illegally? lmao

You should treat OEM as the no-frills version.

Thanks for reminding to update my MCT USB drive.
3.26GB, not as large as I remember it being last time.

The link on the bottom of the Rufus page is the same link as the one you listed above as well. One can even get a windows 8.1 iso just by editing the link by replacing 10 with 8. Win 7 iso needs to be downloaded elsewhere.

You can get every ISO from that link alone if you add this script to GreaseMonkey (Firefox) or Chrome alternative

No chief it was not clean install, I did not use a usb just download.... Heres what happend.1st I put a Windows 7 Pro key was not getting updates so I switched to SP1 and its still same thing!
I need to go pick-up a flash-drive,Yup dont have one. Lol.Thanks Extraordinary I will try what you said.
Yea clean installs are generally the least problematic
Install 10 without a key, once you hit the desktop goto the activation settings screen and enter your Windows 7 key to activate
Might work by entering the key during install too, but I always wait until I hit the desktop first
