We've mentioned Xiaomi a couple of times now related to the PC Gaming monitor segment, it looks like they'll make an even bigger statement coming November 11th. The company is to launch a gaming monitor with either a 240 or 360 Hz refresh rate penel from AUO, for just 145 USD.

The screen obviously will be Full HD sized 24.5-inch. You've noticed I wrote 'could' and then 240 / 360 Hz, well Gizmo China reports there are some doubts about price and the actual refresh rate of the monitor. According to reports, the panel used in the display may be AUO’s 240Hz TN screen or AUO’s new 360Hz gaming screen.

The product would reach the market for CNY 999 (that's give or take $145 ). Experts on the other hand state it will be impossible to launch a 360 Hz monitor for less than CNY 1,000. 360 or 240 Hz, it's just a lot for that 145 bucks regardless. The hardware market is undergoing an upward trend in sales of high-frequency monitors, including 144 Hz, 165 Hz, 240 Hz and 280 Hz.

Xiaomi has launched five monitors – the 34-inch Mi Curved Display is priced at 2199 yuan ($323). There is also a 23.8-inch Mi Display priced at 679 yuan (~$99), a 27-inch 165Hz version of the Mi Display is priced at 2199 yuan ($323), and the Mi Display 1A 23.8-inch is priced at 699 yuan ($102). Xiaomi also has a display under the Redmi brand dubbed Redmi display 1A 23.8 inches priced at 599 yuan ($88).
