The person who made MemTest86 says that memory testing is entering "a new era." The memory diagnostic tool will now show you which memory modules are broken visually.

This means that users can now find out which modules in the memory block are broken. The developer says that a new feature will only work on specific DDR5 systems. Screenshots show Crucial DDR5-4800 memory, meaning only those modules will work.

The next version will be able to tell not only which strip is broken, but also which memory chips cause errors. At the moment, this feature only works with dual-channel DDR5 memory, an Intel Alder Lake processor from the 12000 series, and a Z690 motherboard, but it doesn't say that other chipsets or processors, like AMD's, can't support it. It looks like ddr4 modules are probably not eligible.

Not much is known about when the new version will be ready.
